Sandra (Sandi) Shewchuk

I grew up in Yorkton, attended school here and then moved on to complete my university training in Calgary, Alberta. All in the course of the same year; I obtained my Bachelor of Education, married a Calder area boy, moved to the family farm and accepted a teaching position at the Regional High School.

My husband, Wayne and I have been blessed with two wonderful children. Circumstances allowed me to stay home with our growing children, working along side my husband to build a grain farming operation while substitute teaching as the opportunities presented themselves.

I have always been very active in our community and the activities of our children and feel that a strong community flourishes from individual involvement. My contributions as a volunteer include everything from coaching soccer teams to designing a class costume for a dance recital. I have held executive positions with: the Yorkton Music Festival, the Yorkton Band Booster Organization, with two Parent School Advisory Boards and served as Treasurer for a Ukrainian Dance Ensemble for over a decade. Currently I continue my long standing involvement as part of the Instruction Team for a local Ukrainian Dance Club and also participate in an Adult Dance Group myself.

The Real Estate Industry has always been of great interest to me. We all live differently and need housing that suits our respective day to day routine, during each stage of our lives. Our family's decision to move into Yorkton was a decision that we labored over, it was a very hard step to take. That whole experience taught me that moving or relocating can be a difficult, a challenging and an emotion filled journey.
